The St Petersburg Jewish Community’s Department of Tourism
The Grand Choral Synagogue of St Petersburg is one of the most beautiful Jewish houses of worship in the world and each year more and more tourists are keen to visit it. At the beginning of 2005 a Department of Tourism was established by the St Petersburg Jewish within the Grand Choral Synagogue.

Opening hours:
From October to May, the tourist reception office and guide service work every day except Saturdays and Jewish holidays from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm. Guided tours are arranged in advance. On Saturdays the synagogue is open only for prayers from 10.00 am to 12:00 am.
Services provided to foreign visitors by the Department of Tourism:
- Advice with regard to hotels.
- Guided toursguides
- Arranging concerts of cantor and klezmer music in the Grand Choral Synagogue.
- Organizing meetings with representatives of the Jewish Community of St Petersburg. Possible daily except Saturdays and Jewish holidays from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm - only by advance request a minimum of 5 days before the proposed meeting
- Arranging meals in the Jewish kosher restaurant Le’chaim.
